Soeco decorates Hitachi in Landskrona

When Hitachi moved into its newly renovated premises in Landskrona, Soeco was entrusted with furnishing the offices, conference rooms, lounge areas, and dining room with upcycled furniture.

CO2e savings: 130 tons

Reused at the entrance

The upcycling starts right at the entrance, where the red armchairs originally come from Riksbyggen in Malmö – a perfect color match with Hitachi’s graphic profile. These were combined with a table from our own collection, inspired by Alvar Aalto’s iconic vase, and made from Valchromat.

Recycled from Emporia

Through the first corridor, you reach the elongated break room, where we used a solid oak table from Gert Wingårdh’s design, originally sourced from Emporia. The table underwent extensive restoration, with our carpentry team sanding the surfaces, dark-staining the wood, and polishing the brass details.

A mix of new and recycled

Next to the break room is the dining room, the social heart of the building. Here, we used upcycled chairs from Svedala Municipality, which we repainted in a greenish-blue shade and upholstered with three matching colors of Aquaclean fabric Crush from Kirkby Design. For the tables, our carpentry team designed both round and square versions with Mushroom-colored linoleum tops. These were combined with upcycled bases, which we powder-coated in black. To create a unified feel throughout the dining room, the same bases were also used for the large round tables.

Comfy dining area

In one corner of the dining room, we created more secluded dining areas with the Dyyni sofa from Isku, which we sourced from Qlikview and reupholstered in the same matching fabric. Additionally, our carpentry team equipped the sofas with plinths, painted in the same greenish-blue color as the dining chairs.

Secluded lounge area

On the other side of the room, we designed a screened-off lounge area with the Stereo sofa from Mitab, which we had previously sourced from Sony in Malmö. It was reupholstered in our own upholstery and paired with two armchairs from Swedese, as well as our own tables. The lounge area was separated with large plants.

Plenty of lounge areas

One floor up, you are greeted with another lounge area, where we chose a similar furniture arrangement but in a yellow color scheme to connect with the glass-walled conference room on the other side of the dining room. Here, the sofa, again from Sony, is accompanied by armchairs from Johanson Design, which came from an IT company in Stockholm. This lounge also features a reference to the entrance with our Iittala-inspired coffee table.

Customized by our carpenters

The upper floor’s glass walls provide an overview of three large conference rooms, which we painted in three different shades. The yellow room already had predetermined colors for the walls and carpet, so we designed a new conference table in our carpentry with a blue linoleum top and storage in the same color as the walls.

Exclusive seating

Just outside the conference rooms are two exclusive lounge chairs from Moroso, "Take a Line for a Walk," which we originally sourced from Malmö Live. The small table is from the hotel Gässlingen in Skanör and received a new Valchromat top. There are also a number of smaller meeting rooms where we used Fritz Hansen chairs, Rin, which we took from our warehouse and paired with tables in ash and chrome-plated bases from our carpentry.

Colourful conference rooms

The red and green conference rooms follow the same style as the yellow room, with office chairs from WeWork in Stockholm. Here, the chairs were reupholstered with the same fabric as in the dining room, but in a different color palette. Tables with linoleum tops were also designed for these rooms.

Office furniture from Kinnarps

Behind the conference rooms, several workstations are furnished in a more neutral and natural color scheme with beige-brown tones. The workstations consist of Kinnarps Plus chairs and desks from the T-series. The chairs were thoroughly refurbished and reupholstered, and all chairs were equipped with leather armrests – a service that only Soeco can offer. The height-adjustable desks received new ash laminate tops to extend their lifespan and match the tower cabinets we sourced from Afry.
